Hello, how nice of you to stop by!

I’m Mia, I live to create and this site is a one woman show of creations to share a cozy, calm and creative lifestyle and environment.

​

I’am a knitter by heart, who also have a passion for illustrating/ painting. Everything fiber and paint speaks to my soul, and if it might seem like two totally different niches, they are actually not that far from eachother, except for the medium it self.

​

The repetitative motions of knitting soothes me in the same way as the predictable strokes when drawing a mandala. It gives me a mindful state where the stitches on the needle and strokes of the pen is predictable and safe. Crosheting in sircles as well tufting with punch needle also has the same calming rythm.

​

Weaving gives me the exact freedom and flow as painting an abstract acryllic- or alcoholic ink painting. The colors is the only ones in charge and the mind is fully relaxed, in fact, the one and only way I know how to fully mentaly  relax.

​

The red thread through all my creations, is texture! There is just something about details standing out of a mass and different elements working together built up by a medium giving every creation a unique touch and depht to discover.

​

I work part time at the coziest yarn shop you can imagine, as well as designing knitwear patters. As the rest of my time is spent creating to keep this busy mind at float, I’am finally sharing my creations here at Lumisidesign.com.

I mentioned that I live to create, but I also live for my furbabies, Lucas and Milo🧡 While I try every single day to give them the best life possible, they both just turned 1yo, so the mischievous level is quite hight, they are so eager to help whilst Im doing my wooly crafts. Therefore I decided that they needed their own sheep-smelling-toys and cozy mats! In January of 2025 I will therefore launch a whole new section on my shop, Lumisi Cathouse, dedicated fully to all the lovely furbabies out there!

There will be several different wooly toys and cat mats, everything hand made by me of course!

Lucas, as a 50% Mainencoon - a big boy, is a destruction machine of his toys (angel towards people and his brother). The head of quality control, aka Lucas, has approved the demo of every toy that is to come! Milo, the head of the cozy department, has been sleeping on his mats for moths allready, and the purring and the biscuit making says that they are quite comfortable.

Why Lumisi Design?

 

The name Lumisi stems from my furbabies who is allways on my mind. LU is for Lucas, MI for is Milo and SI is for Simba, my late furbaby of 17 years🤍 *almost a Phoebe kind of moment spelling there*
